Mr. Roberio Oliveira Silva took up his post as the Executive Director of the International Coffee Organization on 1 November 2011. After graduating in economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, Roberio immersed himself in the field of commodities, particularly coffee. He has 25 years of experience in both the public and the private sectors, including his tenure as Director of the Coffee Department in the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply; Commodities Secretary in the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade; Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Chamber of Foreign Trade (CAMEX); Secretary-General of the Association of Coffee Producing Countries; and Secretary-General of the Brazilian Federation of Coffee Exporters.

Andrea Illy is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of illycaffe S.p.A., a family business which produces and sells high-quality coffee that started in Trieste in 1933. After serving as Director in charge of production and quality control, Andrea Illy was named Chief Executive of illycaffe in 1994 and in 1997, became Chairman of the board of directors. Under Mr Illy's leadership, the company has expanded its global penetration from 29 countries to 140 countries and increased revenues by more than 130%. In 1999 Andrea Illy took on the presidency of A.S.I.C. (Association Scientifique International du Cafe), and in 2004 he was awarded the title of "Imprenditore dell'Anno" (Businessman of the Year) by Ernst & Young Italia. Born in Trieste in 1964, Mr Illy graduated in Chemistry at the University of Trieste and received a Masters degree from SDA-Bocconi in Milan. He is married and has three daughters.

Ric Rhinehart was named as the executive director of the Specialty Coffee Association of America in September 2007.
Prior to taking on this role he was the president of a specialty coffee roaster and tea purveyor based in Los Angeles, California. From 1998 to 2002 he was the president of R2 Consultants, a management consulting firm specializing in the coffee and tea industries. Rhinehart previously held the position of coffee and tea specialist at Cafe Au Lait, Inc., where he was a minority partner. Prior to this, he worked extensively for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in the food and beverage departments.

Rick Peyser previously served as Director of Social Advocacy and Supply Chain Community Outreach for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, where he worked for almost 27 years. He is a past president of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, the world’s largest coffee trade association, and served six years on the board of directors of the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International (FLO), which sets the standards for fair trade that benefit over 1,500,000 small-scale farmers around the world. Currently Rick serves on the board of directors of Coffee Kids, Food4Farmers (an NGO he co-founded), and Pueblo a Pueblo. He co-authored the book "Brewing Change: Behind the Bean at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters"(2012), which has recently been published in Korean.

Mr. Myung-kyu Ahn, the president of Coffee Myungga Co.,Ltd. is the coffee expert who has taken the lead of pioneering and developing coffee industry and culture in Korea, ever since 1990 when he opened the first cafe of Coffee Myungga near Kyungpook Nat'l Univ in Daegu. Back then, while the concept of hand drip coffee itself was rarely known, he did not only open the cafe of it, but he also introduced a variety of alternative coffee culture such as smoking free cafe and cafe concert. By the time of 2000s, making a direct trading with the farmers, he provided extra high-quality of coffee all across the country and established a totally new model for the roastery cafe. Based on his enriched experience in cafe management, roasting and on-the-spot study, he served as the member of board of directors of Korean Coffee Association and the President of the Specialty Coffee Association of Korea. Furthermore he keeps extending his scope to the cafe franchise and the lecturer for schools, institutions and other related organizations.

She joined the Coffee Board of India in the year 1972 and took over the position of Director Quality Control in the year 1978. She served the Coffee Board of India from 1972 to 1995.
She set up her own laboratory "Coffeelab" in the year 1996, when the market for Indian coffee was liberalized and the farmer could sell his produce on his own. She continues working for the quality of Indian coffee, helping to build brands for coffee farmers, certifying coffees for overseas buyers, training coffee farmers on quality of coffee both in India and overseas and is an active Coffee Corps volunteer of the Coffee Quality Institute of America.
She is a licensed Q and R grader and carries out evaluation of the quality of coffees from various producing origins and consuming origins.
She is invited not only to make presentations on the subject of quality at international conferences, but is also invited to producing origins as a jury member for their cupping competitions and to evaluate the quality of coffees of these countries, to examine how the quality of their coffees could be further upgraded.

Willem Boot founded Boot Coffee Consulting in 1999 with the fundamental objective to improve coffee quality standards. He roasted his first batch of coffee at age 14 and obtained a master’s degree in business economics at the University of Amsterdam. As a quality and strategic marketing consultant, Willem has managed various coffee development programs in countries like Ethiopia, El Salvador, Colombia, Panama, and Honduras. His coffee experiences have been always engaged with Barista Championship. He is the youngest Japanese Barista Champion, and the first World Barista Champion from Asia. He's a Barista, and also conduct seminars and training. His passion is also working at the origin with producers.

Asli Yaman is the Chief Roast Master at Soyuz Coffee Roasting in Kaliningrad, Russia, where since 2010 she oversees coffee buying, production and quality control for SCR's specialty coffee line.
Asli hails from Istanbul, where she began her career in coffee some 10 years ago as the Trainer and R&D Department Manager at wholesale roaster and retailer John's Coffee, a pioneer of specialty coffee in the birthplace of Turkish coffee. She earned an MBA from Istanbul Bilgi University, where her dissertation analyzed the international proliferation of Starbucks. In March 2014, she attended the National Brewers Cup Championship in Turkey where she took the first place for the second time in a row. Following the success in Turkey, Asli represented her home country in Rimini, at World Brewers Cup Championship 2014 where she ended up with a 3rd place finish. Currently, she is allocating a lot of her professional time towards education. As an AST, she is running official SCAE trainings in Introduction to Coffee, Green Coffee, Sensory Skills & Roasting modules both in Russia and Turkey.

Jon started in coffee in 1998 in the Norwegian speciality coffee company Solberg & Hansen.
During his 5 years in the company, he worked in sales and ended in charge of the quality control for roasting and green coffee. Jon has been in the coffee business for 15 years. With a background as Food Nutrition specialist, in coffee he is educated as an Authorised SCAE Trainer in all modules of the Coffee Diploma System and also has the title as Coffeeologist from the Germany based Coffee Consulate.
He has been very active in SCAE from the very beginning with experience as member of SCAE Board of Directors and supporting struggling SCAE chapters around Europe. Recently he moved to Thailand and became a partner at Fabb Coffee Academy in Bangkok, opened in September 2014.
