- Michelle has worked her way from Washington, DC-area barista to foundational team member at Barista Hustle, the online education and community platform It was while living in Phoenix when Michelle made waves, unabashedly bringing forth the conversation of racial equity and coffee with her blog, The Chocolate Barista. She’s spoken at Tamper Tantrum: NYC and organized “The Intersectionality Panel” lecture at last year’s SCA Expo, which ushered the topic of diversity and inclusion to the roundtables of the Specialty Coffee Association.
